Chapter 10: I verbi pronominali
A verbo pronominale is a verb that, combined with one or two pronouns, creates a new verb with a specific meaning that differs completely from the meaning of the basic verb.
For example the verb andare means “to go”, while the verb andarsene which is the combination of the verb andare and the pronouns si and ne means “to go away,” “to leave”.
Verbi pronominali are widely used in conversational Italian, especially in everyday speech and informal situations. It is important to be aware of the context and the level of formality when using these verbs in Italian.
