GRAMMATICA
CONDIZIONALE PRESENTE
The present conditional is used to say what we would do or what would happen. It is used to express:
- A polite request: Potresti aprire la finestra, per favore?
- A desire: Vorrei vivere in un quartiere con molto verde.
- A doubt: Non so se Luca si trasferirebbe in una piccola città di provincia.
- A personal opinion: Secondo me, sarebbe opportuno migliorare le periferie delle grandi città.
- An advice: Ragazzi, dovreste visitare i piccoli borghi presenti in Italia!
- A hypothesis: Davanti ad uno ratto, morirei dallo spavento!
- An unconfirmed news: Secondo le ultime notizie, l’aeroporto di Chicago chiuderebbe per maltempo.
To conjugate the verbs in the present conditional, drop the final –e of the infinitive.
For –are verbs, change the –a of the infinitive to –e; –are and –ere verbs share the same conjugation.

Verbs ending in –care and –gare add an h before the e
